Causes: Production defect.
Remedy: Replace sealing ring(s). Replace drive shaft intermediate bearing.

Particulate filter error code P269F, engine warning light is on - 2.0 TDCi

Reference number(s): 63/2010
Fault symptoms: Engine warning light is on
Error codes : P269F
Causes: Fuel evaporator overheating.
Remedy: Replace fuel evaporator.

The team at the IGA’s Technical Helpdesk has very little to report on the 2007 and later Mondeo - but the following points might be worth noting during service work.


  1. Premature wear on front brakes.

  2. Loud howling noise from the power steering, not the pump or rack but a small filter in the reservoir, replace reservoir and add new fluid.

  3. Erratic operation of the air conditioning, internal corrosion in the wiring loom near to the radiator fans.

Inside Line: Remy

Remy Automotive warns that the 2.0 litre TDCi engine can have been fitted with one of two alternators as OE. Although they look identical, they are not interchangeable. It is therefore vital that the part number on the old alternator is checked when ordering a replacement part. A similar issue can occur with the starter motor for the 2.2 litre TDCi engine. So always check the labels on the old core before ordering.
