Motor Codes set to reopen 'Garage of the Year'

Industry watchdog Motor Codes is set to open a contest to find which of its members is the ‘Garage of the Year’. Open to all Code subscribers, the competition will be a month-long campaign running from 27th of May to the 22nd of June. Customers will be encouraged to leave feedback via an online form

Sovereign’s new service to reduce rejected warranty claims

Sovereign Rotating Machines has launched an innovative way for factors and garages to check warranty claims.
The remanufacturing specialists has set up a method where a factor takes three photos of the starter or alternator via a smartphone or tablet, and then send them with a brief description to Sovereign’s technical team, they will be able to assess by a team of experts

Claiming all your allowable expenses

Working out what to claim and what not to claim can be like walking on a tightrope with potentially painful consequences if you slip. Tax can be an absolute minefield and ensuring that the correct income is declared is vital. However, the matter of what can be expensed is open to interpretation and misunderstanding. On the one hand you don’t want to miss out on valuable reliefs, yet on the other, you’ll not want to mistakenly claim for something that isn’t allowable and possibly give HMRC an excuse to conduct an investigation into your affairs

2014 Autocare show proves to be a record-breaker in Telford

Groupauto’s Autocare Show and Conference hit an all-time high after breaking its previous records.
The show held for the first time at the Telford International Centre, saw 82 suppliers and more than 600 delegates, including 150 from Autocare garages all under one roof

TecRMI’s database looks to the future with TPMS information

TecRMI is preparing for the future by already including information on tyre pressure monitoring systems on its database. The repair and maintenance information portal, part of TecAlliance, has made the move to include data on both active and passive TPMS ahead of the sensors becoming a legal requirement on all new vehicles from November 1
