1,800 MOT testers miss CPD deadline

DVSA figures show that some 1,824 MOT testers failed to complete their annual CPD and assessment ahead of the March 31 deadline.

Failing to complete this means that those testers will be 'switched off', i.e unable to log on to the central MOT system.

According to industry expert (and MOT tester) Hayley Pells, the process to return 'can be laborious and frustrating' especially with the current reduced staffing capacity at DVSA.

Of the 1,824 testers that hadn't completed the assessment, 175 are group A and 1,649 are group B.

In the most recent available figures, there are currently 64,653 testers on DVSA's system.
