Warehouse robotics provider Exotec has announced a significant contract with Alliance Automotive Group (AAG) to equip the national distribution centre currently under construction in Yorkshire.

The same firm has been working with AAG's France subsidiary since June 2022 and that central warehouse in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry features Exotec’s suite of products, including automated stock picking systems known as 'Skypod' and 'Skypicker' as well as Deepsky software and 1,700 metres of 'Skypath' conveyor technology. The UK is expected to have a similar modular system.
Neil Warren, Group Logistics Director for AAG in the UK said, “I am very excited to utilise this technology in serving our customers as effectively and quickly as possible to ensure that we are a company that makes it easy for them to deal with based on the operational flexibility it gives us”.

AAG's 1m sq ft 'super hub' is under construction at a site near Rotherham and is planned to open in 2025.
