The government has vowed to break the monopoly of EV charging on the motorway network.
Apart from the privately run Tesla Superchargers, the only general charging provider is Ecotricity.

Transport Minister Rachel Maclean told EV website Electrifying.com that the market would be opened up and service level agreements would be introduced to ensure points will be reliable and can be accessed with contactless payment.
"We are going to have at least six high-power chargers in every motorway service area by 2023" said Maclean. These units would be 150kv or above, and would be in addition to any Tesla Superchargers on site she told the website.
