The RMI’s Independent Garage Association (IGA) has announced that for the remainder of the year, the newly-formed DVSA will be attending its Member Events to provide an update on MOT testing in the modern age and other issues affecting test centres.
The events, held around the country are usually for IGA members but they will now be open to all MOT stations to assist the DVSA in engaging with the trade.
The IGA’s MOT Modernisation Project is building a new ‘web-based’ system to replace the existing VTS devices and will go live by September 2015. The plan is to simplify MOT processes and policies in order to improve road safety and test quality.
DVSA manager Ian Marsh said: “The new system allows testers to use portable devices to enter results while they examine vehicles in the test bay”.
