Inside Line: IGA

Information on the Hyundai i30 from the guys at the IGA Technical Helpdesk:

  • 2.0d noise from timing belt is due to tensioner failure, if left unattended will cause belt failure (48 months or 50,000 miles is recommended interval).
  • 1.4 petrol engine poor performance and unstable idle - no fault codes, before attempting a repair there are ECU software updates for this engine that may give a fix.
  • Knocking noises from rear on rough road surface – rear suspension/shocker bushes wear.
  • Various instruments/warning lights inoperative – loose connections to the rear of the cluster or circuit board failure (modified part available).
