Timing chain issues

Fault symptoms: Timing chain elongation cannot be compensated by built-in chain tensioner.

Causes: Design error

Remedy: Replace chain tensioner.

Injection nozzle/injector

Fault symptoms: Power loss Non-concentric engine running Noises in the engine region. Smell of fuel in engine compartment

Causes: Production defect.

Remedy: Replace injection nozzle(s) bracket.

Belt tensioner and airbag indicator light

Fault symptoms: Airbag indicator light lights

Causes: Faulty cable connections

Remedy: Repair the cable harness.

Testing:

Disconnect battery. Slide front seat(s) all the way to the rear. Plug and socket connection(s) – disconnect airbag. The cable harness needs to be repaired if no orange/yellow cable harness has been installed.
