IAAF secures use of 'world-class' venue for 2023 Golf Day

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has secured the famous Belfry course for its 2023 Golf Day, with members getting the chance to play 18 holes on the PGA championship course.

Located near Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands, The Belfry is synonymous with golf having hosted the Ryder Cup four times. It features three award-winning golf courses: the Derby, the Brabazon, and the  PGA National, which IAAF members will take to for the annual golf day.

Mark Field, chief executive of IAAF, said: “We’re delighted to confirm planning is well under way for the 2023 IAAF Golf Day and that we’ve secured exclusive use of the legendary PGA National course at the world-class Belfry resort on Thursday 22nd June.

“The PGA National course presents a unique challenge with fast running fairways and undulating greens. It’s the only PGA-accredited course in England so Federation members will be spoilt once again with a championship standard course.”

With 18 holes of golf to play, Federation members will vie once more for the Aftermarket Cup, pitting the highest calibre of automotive aftermarket golfing talent against each other on the hallowed turf of the Belfry.

Players will also compete in the Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin competitions and can make use of the Belfry’s driving range and PGA practice facilities.

The evening reception of the IAAF Golf Day offers Federation members exclusive use of the Sutton Suite with a three-course dinner and its own bar.

The 2022 IAAF Golf Day was hailed as a resounding success, taking place in sweltering August conditions on the Arden championship course at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel and Country Club, and saw SMP Europe’s team crowned as winners of the inaugural Aftermarket Cup.
