Garages show “healthy interest” in joining IAAF

Independent garages are showing a “healthy level of interest” in the new IAAF, or Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (formerly the ADF), according to spokesman Brian Spratt.

“It is still early days,” he told CAT Magazine “but we’re very pleased with the response and also by the reaction of existing distributor members. We want to sell it as a unifying organisation.”

The news comes after Allparts Automotive, founder member of the UK Parts Alliance, committed its support to the Federation.

“This initiative combines the whole independent aftermarket under the same banner and for the first time provides us with a powerful lobbying voice promoting the interests of our entire sector,” said Steve Patten, Allparts’ marketing director.

“Allparts has long supported the excellent work that our Federation has engaged in, including defending our rights in the UK and European governmental arenas to supply independent garages with OE quality parts and services.

"This further forward thinking initiative can only strengthen our joint position and help us all continue with our mission of bringing a fair and competitive service to the consumer.”
