Denso’s aftermarket division is expanding its line of Lambda Sensors.

The company is adding nine new Universal and Direct Fit Lambda Sensor part numbers to its range. That means new applications in models like Jaguar’s X-type 2, 2.5, and 3 litre cars are now covered, as are similar models from Alfa Romeo and Fiat.

The extension brings Denso’s expanded offerings to 272 part numbers and over 1,700 applications, ensuring a 30 percent coverage of the European car parc. Many of the new additions are exclusive to Denso.

Paul Payne, manager of Denso’s aftermarket division explained: “In terms of Direct Fit Lambda Sensors Denso’s programme can truly be said to be unique.  Less than 5 percent of the part numbers in Denso’s Direct Fit programme are covered by other OEM brands with equivalent product.”

Payne added that customers ordering the new Lambda Sensors will also benefit from Denso’s OE build quality.

Denso first started manufacturing the sensors in 1977, producing several hundred million Lambda sensors with increasing levels of technology. The sensors are currently fitted as OE standard on a host of VM models, including those by Toyota, Mazda, and Land Rover.

Look out for our interview with Paul Payne in the next issue of CAT which will land on your doorstep on July 13.
