Garage technicians can now undertake Automotive Technician Accreditation assessment at CES UK’s training centre in Chester.

The training centre, based at the company’s Chester HQ, has been accredited as an IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) Awards Centre.

CES is understood to be the first parts distributor to be awarded the status in the UK.

It is currently offering ATA assessments in Service Maintenance Technician and Refrigerant Handling.

The company also operates ATA parts advisor training and assessments for its own staff.

Paul Hawkins, CES’ automotive training manager, said: “CES question the point of signing up for a training course if you already have some of the skills.

“The ATA assesses real time skills and makes recommendations on specific training needs where you need to brush up.

“This means you can get back to your business because you spend less time and less money on general training you don’t need by concentrating on what you do need.”
