CES and Kwik Fit recently joined forces to participate in the grueling Monster Hike and Bike challenge 2011. The yearly event raises money for Maggies, a Scotland-based cancer charity.

Over the course of the 24-hour event, teams from both companies cycled and hiked over 73 miles of the toughest terrain Scotland has to offer, completing the race in Inverness in the early hours of the morning.

So far the aptly named “Tyred and Exhausted” team’s efforts have raised £17,000 for charity. The team completed the course in a highly-respectable time of 21 hours and 14 minutes.

Steve McCann, CES MD, said: “It’s been a tough day and night for all the team, particularly those last few miles. However, helping such a worthy cause made every step worthwhile. I’m particularly grateful to our employees and suppliers for their support.”

Karen Burns from Kwik Fit added: “The Kwik Fit team have completed the Monster before and cannot emphasise how much fun it is. It brings people together for a common cause; the atmosphere on the weekend is incredibly upbeat, friendly and very inspirational.”
