Autopep has become the first motor factor in Glossop, near Manchester, to appoint a full time parts apprentice.

Jamie Tervet has been taken on under the new apprenticeship scheme offered by Motaquip.

Motaquip’s parts apprentice scheme for factors is run by PSA Peugeot Citroen and all of the training is conducted on-site at the apprentice’s motor factor.

The programme allows for NVQ levels 2 and 3 in parts operations to be completed within 24 months.

  • In year 1, training covers health and safety, selecting and issuing vehicle parts, customer service and IT

  • In year 2, apprentices are taught the more commercial aspects of a motor factor and will develop skills in marketing and team leadership

“We are really pleased to have Jamie on board and look forward to helping him grow within our business,” said Paul Green, one of Autopep’s directors.

“Having an apprentice on the team also enables other employees to develop through the training and guidance they provide Jamie with every day.”
