Autoparts launches training programme for indy garages

Autoparts has launched its own training programme to help independent garages improve technical efficiency and enhance service levels.

The factor chain has teamed up with training provider GTG to develop a range of bespoke training courses – which will be available to all independent garages serviced by Autoparts’ 13-strong network.

Modules covered by the training courses include business skills, IT training, health and safety, transport and logistics and automotive technical expertise.

Group Factor Manager Craig McCracken said: “There continues to be a lot of discussion in the automotive aftermarket about garage standards and a lack of consistent and targeted education so we’re keen to help our garages to further improve their performance where they deem it necessary.

"We've found that a lot of garages want to improve the skill set of their staff but they don't necessarily know where to look for the right kind of training. By forming a strong relationship with GTG, we're eliminating that dilemma for garages and helping them to move forward and offer a slicker and more profitable service to their customers.”

Autoparts also recently launched its Workshop Expert Online software to support garages with modern business functions.
