LKQ branches donate more than £46k to charities in 2025

LKQ UK & Ireland has donated more than £46,000 to 110 community causes across the nation, from grassroots sports team to palliative care charities.

The firm - which comprises LKQ Euro Car Parts, LKQ Digraph and LKQ Leisure & Marine – has donated the funds via its Community Branch Fund scheme, which was launched in 2023 to help branches access funds for projects and charitable causes.

Almost two-thirds (65%) of this year's donations have been used to support local sports clubs. This included the sponsorship of a girls' youth football club in Blackpool, and equipment for the under-10s team at Luton United Football Club such as goals, flags and kits.

Branches in the South East have funded the most out of any region, donating more than £6800. This cash helped support the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), a specialist centre operating out of the Royal Surrey Hospital and offering neonatal care for premature babies.

Elsewhere across the nation, LKQ’s Wakefield branch used its grant to donate to Smart Works Leeds, which helps unemployed women get the coaching, clothing and confidence they need to secure employment, while in Burnley, colleagues donated to Lammacks Junior Football Club, helping to fund kits for the under 10s football team.

What's more, the firm has again worked  to support relief efforts in Ukraine, fundraising to send ambulances to the country filled with aid and supplies.

Kevan Wooden, chief executive at LKQ UK & Ireland, said: "We often fundraise at a national and industry level at LKQ, but the Community Branch Fund allows us to give back to the causes that really matter to our people and their communities.

"The fund aims to make a difference to a huge variety of community groups, charities, hospices, sports teams and more. It's been encouraging to see our colleagues continue to champion the causes they care about, and we're proud to support them in making a real difference locally."
