Motor factor GSF Car Parts has opened a new "satellite branch" in Morpeth, designed to support its main operation in Newcastle and provide greater access to potential customers to the north of the city.
It comprises a shop front, office and stock warehouse, and will employ 10 full-time staff.
It is supported by a fleet of six delivery vans that will target garages in areas such as Blyth and Woodhorn.
"The Newcastle team has delivered incredible results recently, tripling revenue and growing to the point where we are now at the limit," said Paul Geldard, branch manager for GSF Newcastle. "Now we can kick our operations up a gear with the support of Morpeth."
The Morpeth branch is the eighth new site GSF has opened so far this year, out of a planned 12.
In addition to opening the new site, GSF has also bolstered its parts catalogue with the addition of BG Automotive timing belt kits, claimed to cover 90% of cars currently on the road.
Each kit will come with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.
